Clary is fairly short as she is 5 feet tall. She has pale skin, red curly hair, and is said to look a lot like Jocelyn and Valentine. She is often described by Jace as "fragile". She is best friends with Simon and makes many friends like Alec and Isabelle. She is torn between loving Jace, or her best friend Simon which confesses to her later. Clary is "human" yet she could see Jace, Isabelle, and Alec the first time, while they had their invisibility runes on, so that's how they first met with them murdering a teenager. She turns out to be a natural shadow hunter from 2 shadow hunter parents, Jocelyn and Valentine. Throughout the novel, Clary had no real fighting skills, but she did provide useful in some cases such as escaping from Hodge's prison and creating runes. In Clary's mind, all she can mostly think about is other people. She is a very caring person who worries more about her friends and family than her herself. She's important to this series because it's talking in 1st person perspective and Clary is the narrator. All the quest were happening because Clary made them happen. Clary had Jace fall in love with her unintentionally, which made him help Clary. (Example: No one would have saved her mom if she didn't pursue the shadow hunters to help her, others saying something like, it's not worth it). I wouldn't mind being Clary because she can create any kind of rune she wants, in fact, I WANT to be Clary. We know she can create runes because she just drew a rune and the picture she drew along with the rune popped out. Although I don't want freckles or red curly hair, I get to find out I'm a shadow hunter and such. Clary would such a good friend, because as I typed earlier, Clary really cares about her friends, enough to sacrifice herself for others.
